Project 1000 is part of my social enterprise work at SafeServe. Money earned through content, not from business bookings, gets set aside. Once it covers the cost of one course, I deliver free, fully accredited Essential Life Support training to someone from the public.
I want more members of the public trained in first aid. I can't afford to deliver every course for free: running SafeServe is how I make a living, so the courses I sell to businesses stay exactly that: paid, and separate from this project.
What I can do is take the content I'm already building for SafeServe's social channels and put a genuine purpose behind it. If that content earns money through platform monetisation, such as a creator fund, that money isn't mine to keep as profit. I'd rather it go toward training someone who might not otherwise get the chance.
This isn't run as a charity, and I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for SafeServe. It only uses money the content itself earns. Nothing is diverted from the business, and nothing is taken from anyone else to fund it.
Platforms like TikTok pay creators through schemes such as a creator fund, based on views and engagement on the videos I post.
Only content earnings go into the Project 1000 pot. Course bookings and payments from businesses are kept entirely separate and fund the business as normal.
Once the pot covers the cost of one course, I find someone from the public and give them a fully accredited place, free of charge.
I've deliberately not fixed a single number for this. The exact figure will be shaped by conversations with this community as it grows, rather than a target I've picked alone. What won't change is the principle: content earnings fund it, business bookings never do.
Content earnings from platforms like TikTok start small and grow slowly until an account has real reach, so the first free place will take time. Following, liking, commenting and sharing the content genuinely speeds that up, and I'll post honestly about progress as it happens.
Each free place funded through Project 1000 is a fully accredited Essential Life Support session. It's the same standard of instruction I deliver to paying business customers: practical, hands-on, and built to actually stick if it's ever needed in an emergency.
